Church Family Campout Information

Activities

We have some fun activities planned for our weekend! Pick and choose what you want to do or join us for all of them! We hope you will join us for the BBQ on Saturday night. We will handle the chicken for everyone, all you need to do is bring a side to share.

What to Bring

In addition to all the camping gear you are bringing there are a few things that you might want to throw in as well:
  • Bikes - There are quite a few trails throughout the park which make for great riding. Most are dirt and they are everything from flat trails to hills and great mountain bike trails (see the map below).
  • Lawn Games- If you have a lawn game you love, definitely bring it along! There is a very large lawn in the middle of all of our campsites.
  • Fire Wood- Each campsite has a fire ring, so if you want a campfire, bring some wood along.
  • Board Games & Cards- Who doesn't love a good board game? I know I do!
  • Chairs- Make sure to bring your own chairs or something to sit on for the movie and church on Sunday morning.
  • Lake stuff- If you plan to spend some time on the water, kayaks or paddle boards would be fun. Life jackets are a must, whether your paddle boarding or just letting to littles swim.
  • Water toys- It's gonna be warm while we are there and if you don't want to head down to the lake you might want to bring squirt guns and water toys to play on the lawn.
  • Umbrellas/Easy Ups- There is no shade down by the water and while the lawn area has some shade, it's always nice to have more!

Important Info

  • Check in is at 2:00pm. You are welcome to come into the park before check in time, but they can't guarantee your site will be available until 2:00pm.
  • The lake itself is a driving distance from our sites (see the map below) or a really long walk.
  • The water out there is not drinkable, so be sure to bring your own drinking water.
  • The park is huge and is home to lots of wild animals. Among these are deer, wild hogs, raccoons, and rattle snakes. Just be sure to be aware of your surroundings. And close-toed shoes are never a bad thing.
  • There is really poor cell reception in most of the park and no wifi. So you probably won't be making many calls or sending texts, but cell phones have great cameras so they won't be completely useless. 😆
