We had a great day! Last night was a powerful reminder of the good news. We saw the connection from David to Jesus—the Davidic line that ushered in the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who is our Savior! Please continue to pray for the students as they open God's Word and learn to obey the Lord.
The day was filled with recreation games, one-on-one conversations, and time in God's Word.
We dove into Psalm 51 and saw how David, a sinner in need of a Savior just like us, first tried to hide his sin. But when Nathan confronted him, David modeled what true repentance and forgiveness look like.
We also spent a lot of time on the lake, at the pond, and in the pool, staying cool during free time. This evening a few of the high schoolers will try their hand at the Camper Gauntlet, while the middle schoolers and counselors will compete at the pond, getting launched from the blob and swinging from the rope swing.
Pictures of the gauntlet and pond competition will be uploaded later tonight!
Day 3 started early and beautifully. A few of our students from the 8th grade girls' cabin rolled out of their bunks before dawn to watch the sunrise together over the lake. Our high schoolers gathered to hear from different speakers throughout the morning, soaking in God's Word before the day's activities kicked off. From there it was Kajabe Can Can for Ponderosa and rec games for Meadow with plenty of laughter, competition, and fierce competition energy.
When free time rolled around, we spent the first part of it together as a church down at the cove. There's something special about simply being together, students and leaders side by side, enjoying the beauty of Hume Lake and b aattling for king of the hill on the log! Before heading back to hang out until dinner.
The heart of the day came in evening chapel. Both Meadow Ranch (middle school) and Ponderosa (high school) walked through the relational aspect of God as our Good Shepherd out of Psalm 23. We were reminded of just how deeply we need Him, how He guards us from those who intend to harm us with His rod, comforts and guides us with His staff, and prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies, just as only a Good Shepherd does. It's a picture of a God who isn't distant, but personally protecting and tending to His sheep.
From there, it was off to the night game for Meadow Ranch and the Kajabe finals that a few of our girls where in the finals! Then finally to bed (some more reluctantly than others!)
Keep praying for our students as God continues to work in their hearts this week. More updates coming tomorrow!
Day 4 started with a much-appreciated slow morning, many of our students slept in and rolled into a scheduled late breakfast before settling into worship. From there, the two camps split into their own rhythms for the day. Ponderosa (high school) headed into breakout sessions, hearing from different speakers and digging into God's Word, while Meadow Ranch (middle school) kicked off the morning with their chapel and off to the famous die wars recreation and lunch on the lawn!
After lunch, it was all the Hume Lake activities students look forward to! Meadow Ranch jumped into the activities for the day soaking up everything camp has to offer, plus plenty of one-on-one time with their counselors, which is so often where the real heart conversations happen.
Throughout the day, a lot of our students made the most of free time out at the lake, the pond, the pool, and all the other activities scattered across camp. Whether they were cooling off in the water, taking on the blob, or just hanging out together, there was no shortage of fun and connection.
Keep praying for our students as God continues to meet them here. More updates coming tomorrow!
Church — the day we've been building toward all week.
We opened with a combined morning chapel, Ponderosa and Meadow Ranch together, student after student testifying to how God has moved in their lives. Some came up the mountain carrying things they'd hidden for years and went home with them covered by the blood of Christ, picked up and carried away!
Then both camps went head-to-head in a final recreation relay, followed by our last lunch together on the mountain.
The afternoon was full of free time and seven students deciding to take the next step of obedience and be baptized. Counselors walked with each one, helping them process where they've been, what God has done, and what this next step of obedience in following Christ really looks like. Heaven rejoiced over your kids today, and so did we.
We closed with our last chapel both Meadow Ranch and Ponderosa, centered on being the Church back home. Not waiting until they "grow up" to live for Jesus, but coming down this mountain ready to be the church in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods now.
And the last thing your students did before heading back to the cabins one final time? Circled up, singing declaring out loud who God is over their lives.
Tomorrow we come home. Pray for safe travels, and pray for the soil they're returning to, God did real work up here.
Seven baptism commitmittments and hearts made new.

He has done it. See you home.
